    Athenaeum Hotel Audio/Visual Technician Job Description and Responsibilities


    Provide Audio/Visual assistance to Athenaeum Hotel conference groups and weddings. The audio-visual technician is responsible for set up and operation of audio and video equipment for various Chautauqua Hotel events as well as set up of such as chairs and tables. The Hotel audio-visual coordinator will also be responsible for building opening and locking up buildings for various events.

    • Set up and install equipment such as PA’s, TV’s, Projector screens, projectors, connecting wires and cables and ensuring, to the best of your ability, a flawless set up.
    • Set up and operate sound equipment during conference events and weddings
    • Attend wedding rehearsals to ensure you have all the information needed to ensure a flawless wedding from an audio/visual standpoint.
    • Meet weekly (or as needed) with Conference and Wedding coordinators so as to know audio/visual needs for all conference groups and weddings.
    • Ensure equipment is installed according to designated layout.
    • Clean, test, resolve, and store audio/visual equipment issues.
    • Maintain inventory of equipment, as well as helping to maintain key inventory for buildings on the Chautauqua Institution grounds.
    • Set up/tear down of chairs, tables, etc before and after events in the different venues and rooms on the Chautauqua Institution grounds. This includes wedding ceremonies.
    • Lock and unlock buildings before and after events.


    • Must have past experience working with audio/visual equipment
    • Customer service skills and a friendly attitude a must.
    • Hours are flexible and on an “as needed” basis.
