    The pre-eminent expression of lifelong learning in the United States, Chautauqua Institution comes alive each summer with a unique mix of fine and performing arts, lectures, interfaith worship and programs, and recreational activities. Over the course of nine weeks, more than 100,000 people visit Chautauqua and participate in programs, classes and community events for all ages — all within the beautiful setting of a historic lakeside village. As a community, we celebrate, encourage and study the arts and treat them as integral to all of learning, and we convene the critical conversations of the day to advance understanding through civil dialogue.

    Responsibilities

    The Guest Relations Ambassador significantly contributes to the guest experience. This individual is responsible for providing information about Chautauqua Institution using resources on the computer, brochures, and their own knowledge to provide the guest with a wide variety of information.

     

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

     

    • Greet guests with enthusiasm
    • Provide meaningful information in person and over telephone
    • Use the computer to research information such as dates, times, locations and performance details
    • Process scooter rentals
    • Assist guest using out app (Mambo) as a resource
    • Use a electronic register (Square) for sales
    • Maintain a neat, clean and organized environment

    Qualifications

    • Must be at-least 18 years of age
    • Must be able to work at-least one shift each weekend during the nine-week season
    • Strong knowledge of Chautauqua Institution, including programs, schedules and physical layout
    • Proficient with computers
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills plus enthusiasm for working with the public is required
    • Light lifting and standing during shifts is required
