Over the course of nine weeks, more than 100,000 people visit Chautauqua and participate in programs, classes and community events for all ages — all within the beautiful setting of a historic lakeside village. As a community, we celebrate, encourage and study the arts and treat them as integral to all of learning, and we convene the critical conversations of the day to advance understanding through civil dialogue.

    Responsibilities

    The Reservationist at the 'host stand' for Heirloom Restaurant will professionally navigate a high volume of incoming calls for dining reservations using exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

     

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:  

    • Answer large volume of phone calls daily to make dining reservations
    • Log reservation data into the POS-System (Opera) for accurate reservations
    • Book reservations based on restaurant capacities and guest preference
    • Assist management in payroll distribution
    • All other duties as assigned 

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 1-2 years prior reservations and/or host experience in high volume restaurant operation required
    • Must have effective communication skills and exceptional phone etitquette to interact with guests
    • Ability to multitask in a high volume environment with often competing priorties required
