  • Overview

Chautauqua Health & Fitness is a year-round facility located at Chautauqua Institution.  We offer various memberships for use of the facility as well as Personal Services such as private personal training and swim lessons/coaching.  We also offer a variety of group exercise classes throughout the year. We have a wide variety of cardiovascular and strength machines and equipment as well as an indoor pool.    See our website at for facility brochure, personal services brochure and program guide.

We are a single lifeguard facility during the off-season (Fall, Winter, Spring) and a two guard facility during the summertime.  Fitness Center is always staffed when pool is open and fitness staff are additional responders in event of a pool emergency.  Shifts in the off-season are typically 2.5 hours long.  During the summer a shift can be 3.5 hours to about 8 hours.

We have and regularly practice an Emergency Action Plan for our facility, basic rescue and CPR/AED skills.
