The Chautauqua Bookstore is looking to fill the long term seasonal position of Assistant to the Shipping and Receiving Manager. The person in this position will help the shipping and receiving manager process all of the inventory that will be sold in the Bookstore. Ideally, but not necessarily, the position will be filled by someone who is interested in working at the Institution over a number of years and whose availability dovetails nicely with the scheduling requirements. The position asks someone to work a part time schedule - about 25 hours a week in March and April, a full time schedule is required from May through August and 15 to 20 hours a week in September and October. The position involves a combination of physical, clerical, data entry and problem solving work and requires quite a bit of training which is provided by the manager. Once trained, this employee will work quite a bit under his or her own direction. The typical schedule may include some Saturday shifts and can be flexible enough to accommodate employee desires to work particular days or hours during the off season.
